PRINCE2

Taken as either a single course or split into the two components of Foundation and Practitioner this certification helps people understand the terminology and concepts of the project management method defined in the OGC publication Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2.

While other project management certifications focus on the elements that could be applied by a project management team the PRINCE2 method suggests an effective way to organise them. The main reason for using PRINCE2 is to increase control, reduce risk and maintain quality within a project.

The Foundation and Practitioner exams assess respectively whether a person would:

  • Be able to act as an informed member of a project management team using the PRINCE2 method
  • Have the ability to apply PRINCE2 in a project environment.

A mixture of learning methods are used on the course including classroom lectures, group and individual activities, discussions, project examples and case study work. Training in PRINCE2 comprises of the following courses:

  • PRINCE2 Foundation - usually a three day course (with the Foundation exam)
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner - usually a two day course (with the Practitioner exam)
  • PRINCE2 Foundation with Practitioner - usually a five day course (with both the exams).
